Wii U only supports one screened controller

http://www.industrygamers.com/news/e3-2011-wii-u-system-only-supports-single-enhanced-controller/

Apparently Miyamoto confirmed that the screened controller will go solo, meaning that we won't have to worry about buying more than one of them.  It will surely be bundled with the system, because I'm sure a controller like that would be way too expensive on its own.  It'll continue to use wii motes and classic controllers for multiplayer stuff.  I suppose the "U" part of Wii U really is embodied in the single touch screen controller.

  1. Awww, that sucks because Nintendo has always been a player "s" friendly console :P

  2. That's a strange decision if you ask me. ;P

  3. I am really confused, considering that multiplayer is pretty much 90 percent of the gaming industry at the moment.

  4. I'm not sure if this will be a permanent decision. If this decision is based on software, than it can be updated later if people want it to change. While having 4 of these controllers could make for a very interesting local multiplayer experience, it might become cumbersome. And this is one controller per console, so online multiplayer will still be able to use multiple controllers in one multiplayer experience.
